Hello! My name is Brian Teeters

DEVELOPER

& DESIGNER

Development Work

Below, you will find a collection of larger project examples I have decided to showcase. I have tried to separate them by front-end and back-end focused. However, some projects may overlap in languages and technologies.

More examples, such as smaller projects and code snippets, are available on my GitHub here.

Front-End Focused

GreenTech Innovations

GreenTech Innovations is a web design/development project showcasing a fictional company specializing in sustainable technology solutions. Built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, the site features a home page and a contact form.
Knowledge Used: JavaScript, HTML,
CSS, Responsive Design Practices

Library Application

This is a library application that allows users to manage a collection of books. Users can add new books using a form, display them on the page, update their read status, and remove them from the collection. All book data is stored in an array and dynamically managed with JavaScript.
Knowledge Used: JavaScript & DOM Manipulation,
HTML, CSS

Calculator

This calculator project combines my skills in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. It handles basic arithmetic operations, features a user-friendly interface, and uses custom functions to safely evaluate expressions without relying on eval(). I focused on clean code, user experience, and addressing edge cases like division by zero and floating-point inputs.
Knowledge Used: JavaScript & DOM Manipulation,
HTML, CSS

Etch-A-Sketch

In this project, I created a browser-based sketchpad similar to an Etch-A-Sketch to practice my DOM manipulation skills. I used JavaScript to generate a grid of div elements and Flexbox to style them. Users can draw by hovering over the grid squares, and a button allows them to reset the grid size. I also decided to add effects like random colors and progressive darkening on each square interaction.
Knowledge Used: JavaScript & DOM Manipulation,
HTML, CSS

Tough Mudder UX/UI Redesign

This original class project focused on redesigning the Mobile UX/UI of a website or application. I expanded on this and decided to code the home page, following my Adobe Xd prototype I created for the project.
Knowledge Used: Adobe Xd, UX/UI Practices, HTML, CSS

Back-End Focused

A class group project built utilizing python to generate a star chart and additional information based on user input.
Knowledge Used: Python, APIs,
Various Python Libraries
(list can be found in requirements.txt GitHub file)

Alien Invasion Game

A personal project utilizing Python and the Pygame library mimicking the basic gameplay of the classic "Space Invaders" retro game.
Knowledge Used: Python, Pygame

Design Work

EZAdsPro

My experience at EZAdsPro included working very closely with both team members and clients. This included designing advertisements for both web and print, communicating with both clients and the in-house team, as well as finalizing print materials for production purposes.

Our Sunday Visitor

During my time at Our Sunday Visitor, Inc. I worked very closely with the marketing team. This included various jobs such as designing business to business promotional sales pieces, pamphlets and ads for books, third-party ads and more for both print and digital channels.

Elemental Supplements

Being healthy can be achieved in many ways but most of them revolve around the idea of nutrition. When looking into this, it is shown that eating whole foods and staying away from heavily processed items is most beneficial. It seems that every product available on the market doesn't reflect this idea. The concept of Elemental Real Food Supplements is to bridge that gap and to get as close to natural whole foods as you possibly can with supplements.

YumYum Boards

Skateboards have always had a draw to me. After attempting, and failing, to learn to ride them I gave up but just couldn't get rid of them. I realized that the designs each had were specific and reflective of the idividual who rode it. I enjoyed looking through each and realized that board art could be a great outlet for my illustrative, less refined and polished side of design. YumYum Boards is a collection of some of those designs as well as a branding project.

I Am Brian Teeters

Growing up art had a significant influence on my life. I found that I could get lost for hours experimenting with colors, patterns, and shapes. I found joy pairing them together in unexpected ways. Through this, my career path as a graphic designer started.

After having been in the field for a number of years, I began to want something involving more of a challenge. I wanted to engage both sides of my brain, logical and creative. During college I had some classes dealing with web design and coding and enjoyed those thoroughly. Realizing this I decided to pursue a degree in software development to expand my skill set. Keeping a creative outlet has always been important to me and the career shift allows me to add the challenge and logical engagement I have been looking for.

As a developer, designer, and artist I always enjoy being able to insert a part of my personality into each project. My goal is to open the door for an interaction with the user. I create with the purpose of impacting the lives of those around me with my work as well as meeting the needs of the end-user, and client alike through clear and well thought out design.
